How should we prep our skin pre-holiday?

What to expect: Pre-holiday you should ensure you scrub away dead skin cells, not only so that your skin looks fresh and silky smooth ahead of your holiday but also to develop a more even tan. In addition, it is vital to keep skin hydrated before you travel as it is likely to become drier through increased exposure to sun.

What to use: The skin on your arms, legs and body will reap exactly the same benefits from exfoliation as your forehead, cheeks and chin, so a product such as Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliator is the perfect way to prep your skin before you head to the sunshine. It’s designed to whisk away dead surface cells, speed up cell turnover and reveal silky, younger-looking skin. Deep Comfort Body Butter is the perfect post-exfoliation moisturiser as it will give your skin a silky feel. It’s designed for long-term nourishment and has Vitamin E extract which works as an antioxidant to protect the skin. It will also help to prevent dehydration during the flight by providing immediate and long-term moisturisation.

What is the best way to care for our skin during a flight?

What to expect:

The air pressure on a plane is extremely dehydrating on your skin; therefore it’s good to take extra steps to stay hydrated on a long haul flight – both in terms of drinking lots of water and through the use of a face mask.

What to use:

The Moisture Surge Melting Mask Balm can be applied as an all-over treatment, or as a 10-minute mask, which is perfect for the plane. Dr Tom Mammone, Executive Director, Skin Physiology and Pharmacology says; ‘In-flight skin is exposed to a very dry environment. This can damage the skin both in the short-term and possibly in the long-term.’ He suggests using the Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturizer SPF 20 on a daily basis, but adding products from the Moisture Surge collection for that little extra boost. The Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief offers hydration for 24 hours.

How should we adapt our skincare regime in the heat?

What to expect:

The importance of using SPF is to protect against the sun’s UVA and UVB rays, applying SPF regularly will prevent against early signs of ageing and will help reduce sun damage on the skin. Our new mineral sunscreen is great for sensitive skin that may be irritated by traditional sunscreens.

What to use:

To give yourself a fresh glow and fight the signs of fatigue post-flight, Even Better Skin Correcting Lotion is the answer. It’s more lightweight than a moisturiser and has the added benefit of SPF 20, which helps strengthen the skin barrier and protect against harmful rays. Once you’re checked in and ready to embrace the sun, it’s our new SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen For Body and Face that should be your calling card. Dr Tom Mammone stresses the importance of sun protection, saying; ‘It is a common misconception that fabric will protect you from the sun’, so a product such as this is as necessary when you’re wandering a new city as when you're lying by a pool.

How can we maintain a healthy post holiday glow?

What to expect:

To keep that even summer tan, the most important thing is to moisturise. When the tan begins to fade, top up with some self tan to keep a natural glow.

What to use:

The best way to maintain your summer glow is with a nourishing treatment like the Deep Comfort Body Oil. The lightweight treatment instantly conditions and comforts as it’s made from a blend of ingredients such as jojoba seed oil and chia seed oil that soothe dry skin and restore radiance. To enhance your glow just that little bit further, add the Self-Sun Tinted Body Lotion to your beauty bag. The gel applies evenly, first bronzing then developing into a rich, natural-looking tan. Add a little Skin-Kissed Face Gel into your moisturiser or foundation for instant warmth on the go.
