It's holiday season, and with it comes an influx of photos set to inspire a feeling of wanderlust to even the most commited of home birds amongst us. Blogging and Dj duo, The Collyer Twins have a particularly jam-packed summer calendar ahead and to kick-start the season, they headed to L.A. in time for Coachella. Here, we quiz them on what to do and where to go in the area, as they inspire a contemporary take on the Reiss SS17 collection that's perfectly fitting for carefree days in the summer sun.

Read the Collyer Twins packing guide here.

The best way to travel:

With a great playlist. Great music is a must on long-haul flights, as is a good mosituriser to keep you feeling fresh and hydrated.

Where to head for as soon as you touch-down:

Head downtown to the Ace Hotel roof terrace. You can cool down in their outdoor pool or just sit and sip on spicy margaritas whilst taking in the view of LA and listening to the resident DJ.

Where to stay:
Look for accommodation in West Hollywood or Melrose. They’re quite central in comparison to a lot of other areas and you can get ubers to just about everywhere for a reasonable price, so travelling around is easy. We used Air B’n’B and managed to find a really lovely place in West Hollywood that soon felt like home.

What to see:
The Hollywood sign is a must (obviously). Hike through Griffith Park and pass by the Griffith Observatory for beautiful views across the city. You might recognise a few of the spots form the film, La La Land!

Take a walk around Beverly Hills in the evening and head for Sprinkle – the world’s first cupcake ATM – to tuck into their amazing choice of sweet treats. It’s so quiet around this area in the evenings and the shopping is just incredible.

There are some really cool, quirky shops and bars around Venice Beach that are well worth a visit, but if you want an additional beach day, Malibu Beach is well worth the hour or so’s drive. Be sure to stay long enough to enjoy the sunset.

The pool party not to miss:

We were lucky enough to be in L.A. for Coachella and we went to the REVOLVE pool party. It was amazing – everyone who you would ever want to meet is there, so it’s top of our recommendations list if you’re in Palm Springs at that time of year.

Where to find the best cocktails:

The Warwick on Sunset Boulevard, which is part cocktail lounge, part Hollywood club. Not only do they serve  delicious cocktails but it’s also a good venue to head to for a big night out as it’s suited to both bottle/table service but it has a rustic feel to it which gives it a cool edge. Wednesdays attract the fashion set so if you’re keen to people watch head down then.

Where to go for the best morning-after coffee:

Zinque! The perfect coffee and brunch spot with a super cute outdoor patio that’s perfect in the sunshine. The interior is equally as gorgeous though. We loved the iced coffee with almond milk and for brekkie we'd recommend the egg white frittata bowl.

Where to go for the best grab-and-go lunch:

The Veggie Grill. The food is quick, easy and delicious.  If your 'grabbing and go-ing' definitely go for the buffalo wrap - it is mouth-wateringly tasty. Not one for the meat-lovers, everything is vegetarian, but from us that gets a big thumbs up.

Where to work out:

We'd suggest renting a couple of bikes and cycling down to Venice Beach. You can join all the fitness freaks and beach babes and if you go early enough you can catch the sunrise – what better way to start the day?

Where to people watch:

Carrera cafe on Melrose Avenue. They have a cute outdoor seating area right opposite the infamous pink wall, so it’s a perfect spot for watching. You can only imagine how many people stop to take photos.
