MUSICIAN & RECORD PRODUCER
Legendary recording artist, DJ and record label owner, James Lavelle is the creator of the music for the Reiss Parfums films.
In 1992 he founded Mo’ Wax, a record label that became hugely influential in the 1990s, releasing iconic albums such as DJ Shadow’s Endtroducing and Psyence Fiction, the dark, brooding, critically acclaimed album from his own project UNKLE. Psyence Fiction included vocal collaborations with Ian Brown, Richard Ashcroft and Thom Yorke and became one of the most important albums of the decade.
Subsequently there have been four more UNKLE albums, soundtracks for films including Jonathan Glazer’s Sexy Beast and DJ residencies and appearances around the globe.
The music of James Lavelle has a dramatic intensity, characterised by rich atmospheric soundscapes that made him the perfect artist to score the Reiss Parfums films.
