GUEST PHOTOGRAPHER : ZANITA07.05.15
Fashion bloggers Zanita and Harper and Harley take to the streets of Sydney to shoot our Summer In The City fashion feature.
About the Shoot
Our latest fashion feature, Summer In The City sees guest photographer, Zanita Whittington take to the streets of Sydney in her favourite, city-ready picks from the REISS SS15 collection. When we caught up with her to discuss the shoot she explained her choice of venue; ‘We shot it in Martin Place – I love it as a location because there’s plenty of space and it has that bustling city feeling that was perfect for the theme’. Zanita is passionate about working to a story when producing a shoot and she describes the concept for this particular project as being inspired by the work of established photographer Hans Feurer. She adapted her photography style to suit the type of camera lens in use and chose her outfits to reflect ‘everyday choices with an aim to showcase what I would wear to professional meetings and appointments.’
The coveted fashion expert was accompanied by fellow fashion and lifestyle blogger, Sara from Harper & Harley. The two represent very different aesthetics and work beautifully to complement one another in their styling choices. ‘Sara and I have personal style that’s so unique from one another and there wouldn’t be many other brands that could represent each of our aesthetics fully without one of us having to compromise.’ When asked why she chose to work with REISS she said; ‘I feel like there’s something for everyone. The store is full of investment pieces that could work in any wardrobe.’ She described her chosen looks as being ‘easy to wear but with a creative element’ and deems the Zena printed ruffle dress her favourite piece in the collection.
Zanita’s colourful, creative style makes striking contrast to Sara’s minimalist, structured alternative. Sara’s blog bio reads; ‘Reducing my wardrobe down to the basics of black, white and grey’ and she represents this mantra by opting for sleek pencil skirts and tops in monochromatic hues. Combined, the styling choices offer an artful range of outfits fit for a Summer In The City.
