Summer has arrived, and with it comes higher temperatures and stylish new wardrobe additions. From floor-grazing silk to signature prints and eternally-stylish holiday essentials, here’s what we’re wearing in the heat.
We’re turning up the heat this summer at Reiss – in both temperature and style.
It’s almost impossible to approach a high summer fashion story without mentioning the ‘W’ word (that’s ‘weather’, in case you weren’t sure). But, we’re just going to assume that the lovely island we call home is due some sun rays this year – hence the turning up of the heat, in a meteorological sense.
And while we know we can’t actually control what the weather fronts bring in, we can at least take some accountability for what we wear, come rain or shine.
So, what? From floor-grazing silk dresses to itsy bitsy bikinis and eternally-stylish Capri pants, wardrobes are looking luxe, modern and feminine.
Silk is a key fabric. The Eddi shirt in our favourite high summer print ‘the gecko’ is a grey and white ring lizard print which finds itself on many pieces in the collection, but is probably most wearable on Eddi.
Try it with shorts, skinny jeans, pencil skirts, wide leg trousers or un-buttoned over a bikini, it’s versatile and very stylish.
Then there’s the Alla dress in two striking versions; long or short in colour-blocked blue or coral. Offering an elongating optical illusion, both dresses swish and sway like only pure silk can, making them perfect for those dressy summer occasions and nightfall holidaywear alike.
And then there are shorts. Summer is the one time of year you can pull on a pair and feel seasonally-appropriate, so make the most of it. Team them with camis or tees on hot days and with casual jerseys or slouchy knits if temperatures take a dip.
Other essentials include a printed pair of Capri pants which sit with preppy little blouses with ease and a good blazer in a hero shade of cream or off-white to pull looks together in a cool and crisp manner.
So there you have it, high summer fashion for every eventuality has never looked hotter.
