DRESSED TO KILL

31.10.14

Effortless, elegant and never overdressed. In Dressed To Kill, we reveal AW14 eveningwear's razor-sharp sensibility.

IN THE BLACK

Black’s status as the most formal of colours is incontestable. Layer yours up for endless elegance.

CROSSED LINES

Checks may come in many guises for AW14, but our favourite way to wear this enduring pattern is in its smallest form.

IN DETAIL

Endure even the most exacting sartorial spectators by shrewdly selecting fine finishing touches.

RELAXED & REFINED

For relaxed refinement, button up in a shirt, but choose an experimental pattern and sport an iconic leather jacket in place of an overcoat.

FINER FEELINGS

Play with tactile textural combinations for an ensemble that feels every bit as good as it looks.

THE BLUES

Whether muted or midnight, for AW14 eveningwear is awash with duskiest tones of blue.

GET SPOTTED

Polka dots give AW14′s eveningwear pattern that's perfect.

LIVE IN LEATHER

Leather may not be part of partywear’s traditional sartorial arsenal, but its slick appeal is undeniable.

TEXTURAL TIP

Few occasions more keenly call for a touch of faux-fur - it's our textural tip for AW14's party season.

TRUE VELVET

Velvet is the last word in luxury for formal events. Wear yours in an unashamedly rich, deep hue.

INTO DARKNESS

Mix black pieces to elegant effect for an evening look that’s shrouded in darkness.

IN DETAIL

Thanks to an abundant offering of accessories, fine tuning your formalwear never felt so effortless.

TAILORING TO TRANSFORM

Worn over a base of black, a light grey blazer is tailoring at its most transformative.

About the Shoot

As 2014 fast approaches its conclusion with it come all those social rites so synonymous with the year’s closing months. Cue rapturous celebration and merriment unbridled. It is this spirit of elation - fused with serious sartorial clout - that our AW14 men’s eveningwear aspires to channel. Dressed To Kill is an ode to the sheer joy of dressing for an event, and through it you’ll discover a new menswear mood which sets the sartorial agenda for the next year’s beginning.

Though the season’s events may be brimming with hi jinks, our favoured palette prizes restrained refinement giving bold colour the cold shoulder in favour of dimly-lit shades. Think deepest black, duskiest navy and hits of colour that although muted, are still fiercely intense. Nowhere is this seen moreso than on our offering of velvet blazers which come in an array of rich colours that rival the sumptuousness of their fabric.

And what of tailoring’s form? Cut closely to the body, tuxedo jackets, tailored trousers and shirts all share a stark sharpness of silhouette. Similarities cease there. Fabrications span from rich wool to crisp cotton and from window pane checks to fine flecks.

Thanks to an abundant offering of accessories, fine tuning your formalwear never felt so effortless. AW14 marks Reiss menswear’s most comprehensive offering of finishing touches to date. For fans of tradition, shoes, bow ties and ties observe both classic and directional design. Meanwhile cufflinks and tie pins are the easiest way to add a flash of sleek metallic style.

Take your cue from Dressed To Kill and make sure that for this year’s last moments your outfit choices leave a stylish lasting impression.
