Zina Charkoplia: My Secret Barcelona

07.10.14

As autumn's grey skies begin to set in, our thoughts are already turning to city escapes in the sunshine - cue our exclusive round-up of Barcelona's must-visit hotspots. From luxurious boutiques brimming with designer labels, to celebrated restaurants and romantic retreats, this cosmopolitan city is ideal for long weekends away. We turn to globe-trotting style maven Zina Charkoplia of Fashion Vibe - who resides in the heart of Barcelona - to reveal her little black book of stylish addresses.

Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. I’ve lived here for more than 9 years and what surprises me the most is being able to discover new and amazing places!

I love good food and the city offers great gastronomy.

For brunch you have to try Cup & Cake. It’s cosy, small and beautiful, with great coffee and cupcakes.

Burger lovers will really enjoy the retro mood of Figaro (amazing burgers and cocktails)! I always go there because it’s fabulous and it’s so close to where I live.

If you want to spend the night in and you love good sushi, pick up your favourite maki from the Sushi Shop and enjoy it watching a good movie. An amazing restaurant for sushi is Parco - don’t miss it!

Located in the heart of Barcelona is Santa Eulalia: the best luxury boutique in the city. It’s here that you can find real treasures from brands such as Céline, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, Christian Louboutin and Balenciaga.

Hotel OMM is one of my favourite places to stay - I love it. It’s a boutique hotel with great views and a breathtaking rooftop. The restaurant and bar are super cool and the crowd is always very elegant.

San Telmo café has to be one of my favourite spots for breakfast, while Café El Velódromo is the best if you like something more retro, sophisticated and cool.

Don´t miss visiting Park Guell - especially if you have your other half with you – as it’s the most romantic spot in Barcelona.
