Talk us through your outfit choice

When choosing an outfit, I like to base it around one key piece and go from there, in this case it is this beautiful structured coat from the Reiss Archive called Envy. One of the many reasons I love to shop at Reiss is for the tailoring, there’s nothing quite like a gorgeous fit to make you feel great in what you are wearing. I paired it with my favourite knit of this season - the oversized knit. I love how cosy this piece is and it looks so great under the big lapels of the jacket. I really liked the contrast of the creams with the black leather trousers and pointed boots. To top it off I added the Lennox bag in biscuit because I knew the colours would really complement each other. Plus the bag is a great size, I always love when I can fit my laptop into a beautiful bag.

Which AW14 trends are you currently sporting?

Lovely big oversized knits and tailored everything else.

Whose style do you most admire and why?

I admire anyone who feels totally at ease and confident in what they are wearing, or indeed in their own skin. Someone who I think does this really well is Victoria Beckham. She always kills it.

What’s the best piece of fashion advice that you've ever been given?

Sometimes the most simple pieces of advice are the most effective when put into practice. In this case, the best advice I once got and live by is to relax, not take yourself too seriously and not to worry about what other people think. Your outfit, your choice!

How does your day-to-night style differ?

To be totally honest it doesn't change too much, if I am going out with the girls I like to be understated rather than glitzy. However on special occasions I do love wearing beautiful and unique dresses or jumpsuits.

What is your most treasured wardrobe possession?

It changes from season to season, but now that we are coming into winter a good coat is always on the top of my list. I am often more inclined to go for a 3/4 length style as it gets pretty chilly here in Dublin!

WINTER WHITES

White on white is most commonly met with trepidation, but worn wisely layers of white make one of AW14's most arresting combinations. Offset your look by utilising carefully placed accents of black, and for a softer take on the look try mixing white, cream and ivory.

NAVY & BLACK

Rebut that old adage that navy and black shouldn't been seen together. For those with a penchant for fashion at its very darkest, the dusky appeal of navy and black teamed together is an irresistible pairing, and it's a sentiment that we wholeheartedly share for AW14. As evidenced above, layering isn't all slouchy fits and loose silhouettes. Contrast a relaxed roll neck jumper with a form fitting leather skirt for the fashionable best of both worlds.

TEXTURE TO TRY

Layering doesn't have to be all about contrasting colours and shapes; one of our favourite aspects of layering for the colder seasons is the endless number of textural combinations which can be utilised. This season we’re drawing on shearling, velvet, cable knit and smooth leather for a fashionable union that feels every bit as good as it looks.
