Vintage Icons: Our Stylish Mothers

13.05.12

In celebration of international Mother's Day, we've asked our American team to round-up some cool vintage pics of their favourite retro looks - as sported by their mums. We all know that your first style icon is your mum, and so, we delved into the photo album and the Reiss wardrobe to honour these hot vintage looks.

Employee: Jose Torres, our US visual merchandiser.

Mother: Mrs Torres.

Get her look: Mrs Torres opts for baby pink beachside (above), we think our Smeralda dress captures her look perfectly. While her party look (below) is pure Sixties, with a figure-hugging LBD and cool beehive. Wiggle into our Fernanda dress to work this retro vibe.

Employee: Danielle Gambino from our Bloomingdale's store, 59th Street, New York.

Mother: Mrs Gambino.

Get her look: Mrs Gambino has casual dressing down to a tee. We love her holiday looks; go for the Danni t-shirt and Sally shorts for her roadtrip attire (above). And for scooter chic (below), the Blossom tee in coral and the stripe Amilly shorts are a stylish match.

Employee: Michelle Walsh from our US head office.

Mother: Mrs Walsh.

Get her look: Mrs Walsh opts for classic monochrome for her vintage nights out. To off-set the towering beehive (above), go for the Bubble top and Jessie shorts. While bubbly nights (below) call for the Franny shirt and slinky Lime pencil skirt.

Employee: Laurie Marco from our US head office. Mother: Mrs Marco. Get her look: Mrs Marco takes a bite of cool androgyny. Replicate her laidback look in our Sailor shirt, Paris trousers and Kirtsen shoes.

Employee: Emma McCallum from our US head office.

Mother: Mrs McCallum.

Get her look: Stylish Seventies flares are a fashion perennial. Get Mrs McCallum's cool and casual look with our Latina tank top, Angel jeans, Kane belt and Clarisa necklace.

Employee: Elle Ciser from our Short Hills store.

Mother: Mrs Ciser

Get her look: Make like the rather sassy Mrs Ciser and go tropical with our Wren t-shirt and Sid shorts - it's a colour clash Mrs C would approve of.
