FOR A CULTURE HIT : ALBERTO BURRI, THE GUGGENHEIM

WHAT: Clear space in your diary for the Guggenheim this October - it’s set to showcase the works of Italian artist, Alberto Burri in his first U.S. retrospective since 1978. ‘The Trauma of Painting,’ explores the beauty and complexity of Burri’s artistic process and showcases both his recognisable and less well-known works. The exhibition launches on the 9th October and runs until the 9th January 2016.

WHERE: Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, 1071 Fifth Avenue (at 89th Street)

FOR FALL COCKTAILS : CRIMSON AND RYE

WHAT: Positioned in the lobby of Manhattan’s iconic Lipstick building, it’s Crimson and Rye’s central location that makes it such a great meeting point after hours. Once you’re inside however, it’s the drinks that become its most appealing attribute; it’s home to over 50 whiskey’s, ryes, bourbons and scotches, served both neat and mixed into exotic, fall-themed cocktails. Settle into one of the leather armchairs or position yourself at the round bar for an evening of fine beverages in this luxurious environment.
