THE GENTLEMAN'S FESTIVAL STYLE GUIDE

28.06.12

Festival season is well and truly upon us, with Lovebox and the Isle of Wight having already passed, and the likes of V, T in the Park and Bestival all still to come. But if graphic tees and cut-off denim isn’t your thing, then what do you wear to watch your favourite band? Reiss brings you the gentleman’s guide to festival style.

American Vogue’s European Editor-At-Large, Hamish Bowles, was spotted at Glastonbury last year with Kate Moss. While Miss Moss rocked her classic festival ensemble of Hunter wellies, skinny jeans, loose jersey tee and a Balmain jacket, Hamish kept it dapper and gentlemanly.

Though Bowles’ initial wardrobe choice was more flamboyant (‘I take a view that the divinely swaggering Brian Jones Regency frock coat (which Kate had authenticated by her friend Anita Pallenberg) is too precious for the Glastonbury mud’, Hamish wrote after the festival) we commend his ensemble of sky blue shirt, cobalt cardigan, slim black jeans and an all-important waterproof - in his case, in the form of a Barbour jacket.

At Reiss, we have plenty of options for the sartorially minded among you for this festival season. Try matching our deep indigo Anchor jeans (above right) with an Arrow shirt in mint linen (above left), and a Watcher coat in stone.

Alex Turner, Arctic Monkey front man and former squeeze of Alexa Chung, is another snappy festival dresser. We love Alex’s choice of navy blue trousers which give his casual grey T-shirt a dandyish edge. Get the look with our Wickham trousers in navy blue.
