SHORTLIST'S MOST STYLISH MAN

12.06.14

After much searching, scouting and fervent debate, along with Shortlist, Remington and an accomplished panel of judges - we've helped to discover the UK's Most Stylish Man. Read on to find out who took home the title.

THE FIRST RUNNER UP: RAASHID HOOKS

It's no surprise that Raashid Hooks, 32, makes up one third of the competition's most stylish trinity. Spotted on the street by Reiss Style Scouts Raashid sums up his personal style quite succinctly: "timeless".

New to London following a relocation from New York last year, Hooks runs his own tailoring company - and what better advertisement for the business than his jauntily cocked fedora hat and impeccably tailored three piece suits?

THE RUNNER UP: JAQOB BAGLEY

Though runner-up Jaqob Bagley may not yet have hit his twenties, his personal style speaks of a man far more sartorially experienced. Describing his look as "classic with a new age twist", it’s not all been plain sailing. His biggest fashion false start? “I arrived at a party wearing a pink and black short-sleeved chequered shirt with a black dickie bow when everyone else was wearing tracksuits. It didn’t go down well”.

THE WINNER: MARTIN REYNOLDS

Umbrella casually perched on shoulder and bedecked in simple yet strikingly effective pieces, Martin Reynolds’ competition entry drew unanimous admiration from our judges and was enough to edge him into pole position to take home the title of Shortlist’s Most Stylish Man 2014.

Martin’s approach to dressing is one which resonates with the most stylish men up and down the country. For a start he’s a fan of pared-back looks which champion great proportions over attention grabbing antics, he muses: “No big logos, no blind trend following, no brash colours.”

Martin’s top tip for sartorial splendour? “Clothes should express something about your personality, and if in doubt, dress up not down.” Sage advice, and a mantra that all men should live by.
