My wedding dress and my box of old tatty Pointe shoes left over from my ballet days.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s combined with a classic Victoria Beckham Sheath Dress in a beautiful colour.

Where are your favourite places to have dinner?

Il Buco on Bond Street, Pylos, Alta and Griffou.

Where's your favourite place to have a drink?

A little Indian restaurant in the West Village called Surya – ask for a Tajmapolitan.

Where's the best brunch spot?

The Boathouse in Central Park in the summer.

Where's the best cafe?

Alice’s Tea Cup.

What's your favourite accessory find in NYC?

Anything from Henri Bendel – accessory heaven.

On a rainy day where's the best place to soak up some culture?

The Metropolitan Museum of Art or a night at The Metropolitan Opera House when The American Ballet Theatre is performing.

Where's the first stop any visitor to NYC should make?

Rockefeller Centre at Christmas time.

What's your favourite bookshop?

Bank Street Bookstore at 112th and Broadway. You can find all your favourite childhood books and I love to take my little boy there to read together.

What is your favourite NYC neighbourhood?

West Village.

Where's the most inspiring place in NYC?

Atop the Empire State Building at sunset.

What park would you spend the whole day in?

An obvious choice but Central Park. An oasis right in the heart of the city.

Where are your favourite local places to shop?

Myers of Keswick for authentic British sausages and chocolate, Zabars for cheese, Papyrus for stationary and Reiss, obviously!

Where in NYC do you feel epitomises the buzz of the city?

The Meatpacking District on a Friday night.

The Staten Island Ferry – spectacular views of the city for free!
