Martha Ward is a Fashion Stylist & Contributing Editor at UK and the next fashion insider to answer our quick fire questions. We caught up with Martha and talked her favourite LFW shows, an amazing collection of necklaces and receiving a compliment from Karl Lagerfeld!

Name the 5 essential items in your fashion week kit?

A Smythson notebook and army of pens, snacks (as hours can pass without a food station), flat shoes on alternate days, my Canon G10 camera, and most important of all - a Compeed blister kit!! Essential.

What’s your favourite designer/muse pairing?

Iris Apfel is THE New York fashion muse; and also my own personal inspiration.  A muse to SO many - Ralph Lauren and Jimmy Choo to name but two - she is more iconic now (at 90) than she ever was.

What’s your most anticipated show?

Roksanda and Erdem are 2 of my all time favourites in London.  I always look forward to them.  And Chloe and Valentino are my faves outside of London.  Emerging fave, Simone Rocha.

Front row etiquette – is anything off limits?

Crossing your legs!! If you dare to do so you'll be chastised and screamed at by the photographers who like you to sit neatly with your legs in front of you and your shoes tucked away. He who dares not to….

What’s your most treasured fashion item ever?

I am going to have to cheat and say ALL of my necklaces. From Marni sensations, to vintage jewel encrusted necklaces, to oversized Wonderland-like wooden beads unearthed on globetrotting adventures.

Tell us your ‘pinch yourself’ fashion moment?

Interviewing Karl Lagerfeld is probably up top.  Aided by the fact that he complimented me on my style.

My secret fashion week haunt is….

No. 1 haven after the shows is home! And between shows, it's anywhere comfortable, cosy and warm that serves a good tea and cake. Whatever's nearest.  I did once have the best pit stop at The Ritz.

Stay tuned for more LFW posts throughout the week.
