MWD: SS15'S ACCESSORIES TO OWN

24.03.15

While autumn and winter may have their formal accessories, scarves and dress shoes, so too do spring and summer have their own defining accessories. And, what better way to make the most of them than by investing early and discovering the season's most important designs? In this week's Menswear Diaries, we introduce the shoes and accessory styles that you should know for SS15.

DOUBLE MONK STRAP SHOES

Prized for their ability to look just as stylish when worn with a formal suit as they do worn with a pair of laid-back jeans, double monk strap shoes show no sign of waning in popularity in the near future. Put simply, they’re a fail-safe footwear investment.

This season we've embraced the shoe's sheer versatility and rendered them in everything from etched black leather, to tactile mid-brown suede.

A UTILITARIAN BACKPACK

The antithesis of refined tote bags, backpacks embrace functional design, offering a robust build and excellent technical specifications. That doesn't mean however that design must be compromised.

The Sydney backpack plays to its utilitarian origins, and has been crafted from rugged black woven Nylon, accented by stitch detail and contrasting silver hardwear.

A SUEDE SLIP-ON SHOE

Temper the laid-back appeal of slip-on trainers by choosing to wear a pair manifested in a luxurious fabrication and a grown-up hue. Step forth the Kersey grey suede slip-on trainers which will ensure that your feet are suitably stylish off-duty thanks to their charcoal hue and buttery soft suede uppers.

A TASSELED LOAFER

Last season’s navy suede Anstice loafers were surely the most popular footwear style of AW14, so we've revived them for SS15, this time rendered in chalk white suede. All those details that you loved so much last time round are still present. There’s the perforation detail, the gently rounded toe, and of course, the all-important natty tassels at each upper.

LUXURY LUGGAGE

Lovingly crafted by hand and devised in collaboration with SteamLine, the Gallivant and Wayfarer wheeled suitcases utilise materials with impeccable technical specifications. For lightweight yet sturdy construction, each case is built from vulcanised fibre board, recycled bonded leather, top grain leather, canvas, recycled Pasco wood, vegan leather and brushed metal hardwear. There is surely no more stylish way to travel.
