Inspired by the looks we loved at London Collections: Men earlier this week, here's a couple more of our style resolutions for the New Year. Feel free to add more of your own, but remember - you have to stick to them!

Resolution Four: Forget the Rules

Sometimes it’s best to completely forget the fashion handbook and make your style your own. Forget "Dress Down Friday", why not try dressing down on Monday and up on Friday? I like to settle myself back into the week by taking a more casual approach on Monday, then kick the weekend off with a sharp, sartorial bang. 2013 is the year to learn what suits you and to play by your own style rules.

Resolution Five: Nail Knitwear

  • Natural fibres are warmer than synthetics, so opt for knitwear that has as much wool in it as possible (preferably 100%).
  • Be prepared to pay a little more. Knitwear is an investment as you can wear it from one season to the next. If you go for cheap knitwear, it won’t last any more than a few washes.
  • Knitwear is not just for the colder months. Fine knitwear crafted from materials such as cashmere is perfect for layering in spring; this is also a great time to be more adventurous with colour.
