MWD: A SMOOTH TRANSITION

23.01.15

Though we may still be in the grip of winter's icy chill, the promise of spring and a new season in men's fashion looms near. So, to that end, this week's Menswear Diaries presents the buy now, wear now pieces which will form the backbone of your wardrobe now, and well into the spring/summer season too.

Model wears: the Bishop monochrome weave jumper

Think not purely of seasonality when purchasing new items to add to your sartorial arsenal, but of practicality, wearability and versatility instead. While, yes, it makes perfect sense to save the shorts till summer and keep woolens in hibernation all summer long, when chosen wisely much of your wardrobe can be called on at various times, simply worn with a different sensibility.

Below we pick our favourite pieces from the SS15 collection, which, despite their season, are perfectly relevant for right now.

THE EARLSWORTH NAVY MAC

"The Earlsworth navy mac is an updated version of a menswear classic; perfect for fending off the worst of the weather in style, whatever the season."

THE COLORADO NAVY BOMBER KNIT

"The Colorado navy knitted bomber stylish straddles outerwear and knitwear, and - thanks to its mid-weight weave - the design can be worn layered now, or worn with a simple T-shirt on hotter days."

THE SYDNEY BLACK BACKPACK

"Thanks to its wear-with-anything versatility, the Sydney black backpack can be worn both on and off-duty."
