Designed to sit in tandem with the mainline collection, Reiss 1971 for SS14 retains a refined aesthetic, but offers a youthful, fashion-forward spin which is ideal for days spent off-duty.
The design team’s focus was on providing a collection which represented cool modernity, boasting clean lines and sharp shapes, but all imbued with a sense of fun.
A need for utility and simplicity also marks the collection. Take your styling cues from the design team by keeping layering minimal, pairing a top with either the St Tropez jeans or the Hunger jeans. And on cooler days simply slip on one of the collection’s jackets for a practical finishing touch.
THE SHORT SLEEVED KNIT
Combining the pared-back aesthetic of the short sleeve tee with the sumptuous softness of a jumper, the Dustin short sleeved knit marries the best of both worlds. In insouciant monochrome, the knit is colour tipped at each sleeve and at the hem too.
A LIGHTWEIGHT LAYER
Function and fashion marry stylishly in the Sonic lightweight bomber jacket. The technical material is suitably lightweight for spring, but it’ll also fare well when skies turn tempestuous.
A LUXE LAYER
A spirited take on a luxe outer layer, the Virgil leather bomber jacket combines a luxury composition with a youthful appeal. Its simple, easy shape will pair will with most wardrobe staples, but its buttery-soft outer and gleaming metallic hardwear make for an impossibly stylish contrast.
THE OMBRE KNIT
The Marco knit jumper reflects the collection’s carefree ethos thanks to its ombre dye technique which gently fades from dark navy to white. Its laid-back, simple shape means that it’s the easiest way to add a fashion-forward aesthetic to your spring/summer look.
