Located in an exclusive neighbourhood, Loft 39 is one of the top restaurants for Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The atmosphere is chic yet contemporary, and reminds me of New York. It’s perfect for lunch with girlfriends on a shopping day.
As fashion editors and models alike descend on Madrid’s cultural hotspots this month – from exploring ornate palaces and secret gardens, to enjoying celebrated art galleries and award-winning restaurants – we ask fashion blogger Monica De Tomas of Monimoleskine, who resides in the heart of the city, to reveal her little black book of stylish addresses.
If you want to have a drink with a breathtaking view, Hotel Me Santa Ana is your place! You'll enjoy a spectacular skyline of Madrid from the rooftop terrace, whilst sipping cocktails and listening to music.
Museo Thyssen- Bornemisza is one of my favourite museums - it showcases an eclectic assortment of art exhibitions throughout the year. With nearly a thousand works on display, visitors can contemplate the major movements of western art: from the Renaissance and the Romantic period, through to the Pop Art era. The museum also features works not represented in state-owned collections, such as German Expressionist pieces and experimental avant-garde works from the early 20th century.
Refurbished in September 2011, Hotel Santo Mauro has a gym, indoor swimming pool, sauna, and Turkish bath: all you need for a perfect stay. There’s also a beauty bar, which offers exclusive treatments using Natura Bisse products. For gourmet lovers, their renowned restaurant La Biblioteca specialises in Spanish cuisine, with all ingredients sourced from the local market.
