The London menswear calendar seems to be growing each season. Thinking back to the days when men had one day with just a handful of shows at the end of London Fashion Week, to starting a three day showcase in June 2012 it's amazing that it's now extended to four days on the biannual calendar. It really shows that there's a demand for the growing menswear industry.
My personal highlight is of course attending the shows, but I also love being invited backstage and getting an inside look behind the scenes before a show. I was lucky enough to go back at a couple of shows and it's not until you have experienced this that you realise the true hard work and the amount of people it takes to prepare for a short runway show. It's quite overwhelming.
But for me it's also great to be able to see the collections in much finer detail and to discover the inspirations behind them - alongside the hair and make-up influences.
Stand out shows for me this season? I always enjoy seeing what creations Katie Eary comes up with. Her collections are always bright and bold which I love. For tailoring I really enjoyed the Lutwyche presentation - always such polished tailoring.
Louis Leeman produced some amazing footwear & Christopher Bailey always presents a great collection for Burberry.
When passing between shows or networking at events you only have to look around and you have instant inspiration from some of London's best dressed show goers.
A tip from me is to never go anywhere without your camera! I will be going over London Collections with a fine tooth-comb for the next week until I head to Paris. For more style from Nathan, visit ManMeetsFashionBlog
