Louise Roe, TV Presenter and fashion journalist, is our next London Lives girl (launching next week), so when we shot and interviewed Louise a few weeks ago on a cold January's day, we took the opportunity to tap into her wealth of awards season expertise. As an LA-dwelling Brit who will be covering tonight's Oscars for NBC's Access Hollywood, Louise was perfectly placed to guess what frocks we might be seeing on the red carpet tonight.

"The red carpet so far this season has been two poles really. Very graphic; black, white or monochrome and sleek. Like Julianne Moore in Tom Ford at the Golden Globes or Anne Hathaway in Chanel," says Louise.

Julianne Moore wears Tom Ford at the Golden Globes, while Anne Hathaway wears Chanel.

"But then there’s been this whole ethereal fairytale thing like Julianne Hough and Bernice Bejo," she continues. "They’ve been wearing multi-layered princess skirts and sequins everywhere. So I think these two different looks are the two main trends to expect at the Oscars."

Julianne Hough wears a Monique Lhullier princess dress and Bernice Bejo wears Emilio Pucci.

"Oh, and loads of blush," adds Louise, "but I’m not sure anyone will do that at the Oscars because it’s been done already at the Globes. I love the colour blush, though, I think it’s very elegant".

Amy Adams wears a beautiful blush Marchesa gown. So what will Louise herself be wearing? "I don’t know what I’m going to wear yet, I really don’t!" screamed Louise when we asked her a few weeks ago.  "I’ve got some ideas, but to be honest; sleeves, because I’m standing on that carpet for 5 ½ hours and it’s freezing, so something that keeps me vaguely warm!" We'll look forward to finding out what Louise decides to wear and if her predictions come true when we tune in later tonight. Our Louise Roe London Lives feature will launch next week..
