Just the jacket

15.03.12

This month our focus is firmly on the sharper end of the sartorial market with tailored pieces at the top of our most wanted. Of course, the classic suit springs to mind, but sometimes just one item - namely the tailored blazer - can elevate your look from smart to casual in a shrug of a jacket. Instantly pulling together the least formal of looks, take a look at some of our favourite jackets, from classic one-button styles, to double-breasted shapes and blazers in bold shades.

- The beautiful blush shade and long line shape of Adele sits beautifully over tapered trousers for a contemporary and seasonal approach to tailoring.

- Relaxed and fluid, the Wedgewood blue Issey sits at the more nonchalant end of the tailored spectrum. Wear over shorts for a suitably effortless look.

- The SS12 double-breasted Lois in deep pacific blue is neat not boxy. Shorts offer a hint of mischievousness not previously associated with the DB.

- Wild and rich auburn satin Teah serves up tailoring with a punch. Turn your back on black and go contrasting with white lace trousers - bold and brave.
