White trainers are a style perennial, and year after year they continue to grace the feet of the most sartorially discerning of men. With lighter days ahead, white trainers once again come to the fore. How to wear the style for SS15? Look by look, this week's Menswear Diaries shows you how.

Lightweight linens, pale shades and flecked weaves are order of the day for suiting as the warmer seasons arrive. And, there is no better way than to give tailoring youthful a new twist than by wearing with a pair of pristine white trainers. Though this look may not be appropriate in every office, worn sans socks, a suit teamed with a pair of comfortable yet coveted trainers is the sharpest way to dress under sunshine in the city.

The Look: the Tenor light brown blazer, the Tamerin brown leather document holder, the Dayton grey V-neck T-shirt, the Tenor light brown tailored trousers

White trainers and slim black jeans have been a sartorial pairing drawn upon by men for generations. It's not hard to see why. Simple, stark and undeniably stylish, this is off-duty dressing at its most effortless. For a sharp contrast after dark add a black leather biker jacket and a black T-shirt, but break up the look by wearing a navy chambray shirt worn loosely open.

The Look: the Benares black jeans, the Montebello black leather jacket, the Majestic off-black T-shirt, the Knox slim-fit blue shirt

We're aware that wearing head-to-toe white may not be entirely practical (or flattering) for all, but in an effort to make a clean break from the sobering shades of autumn/winter, for SS15 layering shades of white, cream and grey makes perfect stylish sense. Wear your white trainers with white jeans, but tone down your look by opting for a blue suede jacket and a belt and knit in vary shades of cream.

The Look: the Menthe blue suede jacket, the Maurice slim-fit twill jeans, the Gaston lattice weave chalk belt, the Caversham shawl collar cream jumper

Take inspiration from classic men's riviera style and add white trainers to a relaxed yet refined look. For this pair a Breton stripe T-shirt with dark khaki chinos, a modern technical tote bag and a natty piped navy cardigan, and strike the most fashionable balance between dressed up meets dressed down style.

The Look: the Tullum khaki chinos, the Jules navy piped cardigan, the Roma textured navy tote bag, the Monty navy stripe T-shirt
