So, if you're heading out and want to channel a bit of hocus pocus, don't get spooked, get stylish. And here's how...
HOW TO: HALLOWEEN27.10.12
Halloween dressing. It's an art form which can go so easily wrong. From sexy cat to dressing like a pumpkin, what starts off as 'fun' can quickly descend into mortifying, self-concious displays of dodgy fancy dress. And, as tempting as it is to hop atop a giant pumpkin dressed as a cat, there is an alterntive.
CHOOSE LEATHER & SILK
It's all in the fabrics you choose to wear. Maintain a level of luxury for your look by pulling on a statement leather piece layered over a dangerously sheer pure silk blouse. Leather has undoubtedly dark undertones, and the silk swoops in with its sexy fluidity to soften things a little. The mixing of these two textures definitely elevates usual attempts at spooky garms.
PLAY WITH PROPORTION
Play with a sense of proportion when tackling trick or treat dressing. A wide cape-like jacket hovering over a fluid silk shirt will offer great shape and a dramatic silhouette. Try our Pearl shirt over a skinny trouser and wear the Neeve leather cape loosely over the top (maybe swing it over your shoulders for even cape-ier appeal).
ADD A TOUCH OF MAGIC
Finishing touches will make your look, so don't overlook them. If ever there was a time to over-accessorise, it's for Halloween. Wear our dip-dyed fringe Gem necklace over the top of your buttoned-up shirt, or something similarly chain-layered in dark gunmetal tones.
