THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE PRINT

08.08.15

Season upon season, the Reiss creative team look to cultural and artistic references to influence their designs and AW15’s 1971 Shatter print – as seen on the Eclipse dress and the Mistle shirt shown – was initially inspired by the work of American artist, Jean Michel Basquait. Here we look at his creative aesthetic and how it’s influenced the collection.

THE WARDROBE ITEMS EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN

06.08.15

In a world of ever-changing trends and fast-moving sartorial codes a sense of permanence in menswear is a rare but much-welcomed gift. While we’re constantly inspired by the innovation each new season brings – whether that’s in the unconventional weave of a fabric or a new way of looking at an old favourite – some items maintain their relevance season after season, year after year. It is these familiar items that form the foundation of a wardrobe, the solid building blocks upon which you can develop your personal style.

From our AW15 collection, we’ve put together a list of the items that every man should own, no matter the season.

AW15 MUSE: CHARLOTTE RAMPLING

02.08.15

Fashion icons have long since influenced seasonal collections and the Reiss womenswear designers looked to the likes of Charlotte Rampling, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Romy Schieder to inspire the AW15 collection. Here we pay homage to model and actress Charlotte Rampling, who rose to fame in the 1960s and was instantly recognised for her effortless sense of style.  Admired still today for her feminine take on masculine separates, she proves to be an especially timeless muse.

SINATRA: THE MAN & HIS MUSIC

22.07.15

For Reiss it was over to London’s Palladium theatre for a press preview of Sinatra: the Man and His Music on Monday night. Celebrating the life and times of Frank Sinatra, guests were glued to the multimedia production which rattled through Frank Sinatra’s greatest hits (too many to count) at dizzying speed.

A short hop across town to The Savoy Hotel’s ballroom saw guests reflect on the night’s all-singing all-dancing spectacle during a raucous after-party, the only topic of conversation on guests’ lips; just how many classics can one man lay claim to?

See what we saw at the premiere and after-party.

14.07.15

A performer, an icon, a legacy, a maverick. Few men in history have or will find themselves so admired and emulated as Frank Sinatra. This year marks a century since the entertainer’s birth – a milestone which firmly underscores his status as an undisputed icon.

To celebrate the centenary of Sinatra, a new multi-media concert has arrived at the London Palladium. Running from the 10th of July to the 10th of October, Sinatra: The Man & His Music will feature all of Frank’s greatest hits, such as Fly Me To The Moon, My Way and New York, New York.

Here though, we celebrate the style of a man who has provided endless sartorial inspiration for generations of men, and one who no doubt will continue to do so for some time yet.
