Chelsea Leyland: MY LFW

As London Fashion Week kicks off today and the spotlight falls on Somerset House, we turn to New York-based DJ and model of-the-moment, Chelsea Leyland, to discuss her LFW highlights: from her ultimate beauty essential and favourite London hotspot, to the AW14 trends she's most excited to wear.

What can’t you leave home without during LFW?

Lucas Paw Paw ointment for my lips: it’s amazing for chapped skin in general.

Which AW14 trends are you most excited to wear?

I'm most excited to wear some coloured 'faux fur' this winter. I recently bought an amazing navy faux fur coat with white stripes on; it was designed by my friend's brand 'Shrimp'. It’s absolutely beautiful and I think it’s great that people are starting to look at faux fur in the same way that they look at real fur, as we need to stop wearing animals on our back. I'm also excited that the bomber jacket is back in many variations as I LOVE bombers and they're practical too.

If you could raid anyone’s wardrobe, who would it be and why?

David Bowie's because it would be insanely amazing and there would certainly never be a dull moment.

Name your fantasy show?

Which show are you most looking forward to?

Tell us your ultimate Fashion Week anecdote?

Last season during London Fashion Week my heel broke off. It’s not really that crazy, but out of all the times you could be heelless, Fashion Week is probably one of the worst. I was surrounded by a group of friends who were extremely unhelpful and spent about 30 minutes hysterically laughing at me and filming videos of me hobbling alone.

Your favourite city hot spots during Fashion Week?

In London I would have to say The London Edition hotel as that's where I always stay. It’s beautiful, convenient and normally hosts all the good dinners and parties.
