5 Questions With...Ingrid Schmidt

What's your favorite ever Fashion Week show?

Hmm, thats tough, but gotta say Tom Fords 1997 show for Gucci. I had just started working in public relations for Gucci and it was my first Milan show. I mean,  I remember wearing the look that was in the Mario Testino ad and Tom Ford was my boss. Hello!

Which trend will you be trialling at Fashion Week?

Pops of orange (brilliant accessories and some killer trousers) to wake up neutrals and pastels. Word is that “Tangerine Tango,†the official color of 2012, will continue to make a splash into fall.

Name 5 people from your fantasy front row.

Sarah Jessica Parker,  Mary-Kate Olsen, Chloe Sevigny, Lady Gaga and Kate Moss.  P.S.  No kids, dogs or other pets, please...unless you’re a Valentino pug, of course.

Which show are you most excited to see?

I hate to play favorites. The greatest fashion moments are often a surprise, and there’s just so much talent in the line-up. I do secretly swoon over Marc Jacobs, though, as he tends to be so directional.

Tell us your favorite Fashion Week anecdote.

Watching bodyguards escort Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn to their seats at Gianni Versace’s Spring 1997 Versus show. The front row included Lisa Marie Presley, Mike Tyson, k.d. lang, Debbie Harry and Molly Ringwald. That’s one motley fashion crew. Gianni died so tragically nine months later, so that show was a particular treasure.
