Curating looks and wardrobes is a REISS speciality. Alongside creating pieces that will last throughout the seasons, we offer selections from world brands that excel at their trade. This season, we’re proud to introduce Private White V.C. pieces curated by our team.
Our latest curated selection celebrates the best of British style and manufacturing.
Private White V.C. opened its doors in 1853 in Manchester, England’s textile-industry epicentre. The company manufactured utilitarian garments made to endure weather challenges, last, and ultimately integrate the country’s renowned sartorial history.
Private White V.C. supplied gabardine trench coat to the Allied Forces in 1916. In 1940, the company was commissioned to supply the Royal Air Force with waterproof parkas. In 2020, it was among the businesses that volunteered to make medical-grade gowns and masks to support the fight against Covid-19.
But there’s also fashion, or style, to make this brand’s legacy justice. Private White V.C. has supplied garments for some of Savile Row’s legendary tailoring houses, as well as their clients.
Royalty, presidents, prime ministers, rock stars, athletes, movie stars, and the most discerning jet-setters have worn Private White V.C. garments over the years.
Their repertoire is quintessentially British, with absolute staples such as the Pea Coat and the Waxed jacket among their calling cards.
All items are still manufactured in the Manchester factory, under the same quality, attention to detail and care that once established the brand.
The REISS team felt this would make a fantastic addition to our customer’s wardrobe. Collectable, timeless and enduring, Private White V.C. garments share REISS’ ethos and will fit seamlessly within our range.
