We talk to blogger and Fashion Week expert, Lindsey Holland about her plans for the week and her favourite SS17 picks

Fresh from Copenhagen Fashion Week and prepping for London, style blogger and industry insider, Lindsey Holland is our go-to for information this season. Here, we quiz her on what her diary looks like for the next three days and more importantly, how she’s dressing for it. Consider this your definitive guide to LFW AW17.

What do you see as a ‘must’ when it comes to choosing your outfits for London Fashion Week?

At least one statement piece per look, whether it be a bag, shoes or coat.

Talk us through your chosen looks and why they suit your plans for the weekend ahead.

Tailoring is such a key part of my wardrobe so I’ve chosen this beautifully flattering cream belted suit. I absolutely love the double-breasted design and button detailing and the zips on the trouser hems. I'd call this a power suit and it's perfect for the post-show evening events. I styled it with no top underneath as it speaks for itself but added a bonded tan leather jacket to toughen up the look and make it a little more personal.

My second look is more of daytime choice. I chose another suit but made it a bit more casual here by styling it with a hoody and trainers. It’s comfortable and it gives suiting a cool twist so it’s perfect for running around Fashion Week. The bag is such a great, versatile piece and I love the structured, boxy design.

What is your favourite piece from the SS17 collection and why?

I think it has to be the croc effect leather biker. It’s such a perfectly designed jacket and one I'd wear from season to season.

What three things can’t you be without during LFW?

My By Terry Baume De Rose- this stuff is life saving! My Olympus Pen camera, and a bottle of water. I always forget to drink during the rush so I make myself carry a bottle.

How would you summarise the style in London?

I feel like London is one of the most sophisticated cities when it comes to style but despite this, it maintains a laidback element which keeps the overall aesthetic cool. There’s still plenty of scope for having a personality and being individual.

Which Londoner do you think gets her street style right every time?

I absolutely adore Katherine Ormerod's style. She's a cool cookie.

What SS17 trends are you most excited by?

Shirting – especially that of the deconstructed variety – is so key for SS17 and I love how effortless and easy to wear it can be. I'm also a big fan of the sports-inspired trend that’s making a reappearance.

What makes Fashion Week important to you as a blogger?

It means that I get to support designers in a way that is a little different to just attending their show. I can share the importance of it with my readers. It's also really great for me to see trends ahead of their release dates so that I can start planning content for the blog.

How do you see the blog scene developing in the coming seasons?

I feel like at the moment, the blog community is really strong. Whilst there are a lot of voices out there, there's so much individuality and passion too. I think it will continue to grow.
