Things are finally heating up and the promise of summer is just around the corner, making it the right time to prep ourselves for peeling off the layers and showing a little skin. Our latest feature is a celebration of summer, so we took to a rooftop in east London on a scorching day to shoot our hottest looks.

Welcomed by blue skies and blazing sun, it couldn’t be a better back drop for the collection.

Taking cue from our spring/summer ’14 campaign, the styling has a hint of the Riviera inspiration our season encapsulates, with touches of Fifties glamour; from cat eye sunglasses, to retro swimwear shapes and wide-brimmed sun hats.

As a rule, simplicity reigns here, but each look in all its purity is peppered with vital accessories which lend flavour and are completely sunshine appropriate.

The looks shot take in shapely fit and flare dresses with nipped waists and full skirts (another nod to the Fifties), to sharp tailored pieces in cool, crisp colours and swimwear worn as part of the look rather than something merely beneath it.

The colour palette is soft, with pale blues, mint greens, light greys and blush pink with bolder black, white and creams, which look as effortless against a sun-soaked cityscape as they do poolside.

Texture plays its part too, with a waffle texture jacket worn open to reveal a flash of mesh panel swimwear, or sharply-cut suiting sitting over a palm print bikini top, dresses crafted from broderie floral lace and whisper light pleated chiffons.

The overall effect is a modern interpretation of retro inspirations, and couldn’t feel fresher in the heat of the summer sun.
