SS14 TREND: VINTAGE FLORALS

05.05.14

Floral prints are inevitable in a summer season, but each year we twist the trend to make it modern, interesting and new.

In SS14 florals stem from a vintage inspiration, but are treated to a blurred effect, keeping things contemporary.

Here’s how we’re using the print.

ON TROUSERS

Printed ‘hero’ trousers are having a moment in fashion right now, so a slim-cut, casual trouser is calling out for a print to ‘jazz’ it up a little. Our Olivia trousers are available in plain white, but the printed version is so much more fun. Wear with cream or a pop of lime sorbet.

ON DRESSES

Never has a garment been better-suited to a floral print than a summer dress. Modern rather than prim thanks to its simple shape, our Ottoline dress can go dressy with strappy heels and a blazer, or weekend-ready with a pair of sandals and a knit to warm things up.

ON SKIRTS

A cute pleated skirt gets a double dose of femininity when it’s treated to a series of blurred blooms. With more than a hint of preppiness, we like to wear our Stara skirt with an unbuttoned sheer shirt and a pair of canvas lace-ups – it’s a sunny Saturday uniform.
