Kids Co Interns: Meet Albin

Our Reiss/Kids Co. Internship scheme is well underway and we’ve been gradually introducing you to those behind the scheme and those involved in it.

Last week we met Ben, who’s interning with our menswear design department, and this week, we cross the office to the accesories design room and meet Albin, another Reiss/Kids Co. mentee.

REISS LIVE: OPENING CEREMONY

Well, how brilliant was that? The morning after Danny Boyle’s Olympic Opening Ceremony extravaganza and the mood in the UK, and across the world (if the snippets we’ve gleaned from the international press are to be believed) was resoundingly triumphant. Representing the UK from the green and pleasant land of old, through the grime and grease of the industrial revolution, via the Beatles and James Bond and segueing into the present day, Boyle’s ceremony was as idiosyncratic and humourous as we had hoped.

You MAY have spotted that Reiss made a cameo appearance as well; our Rebbecca dress from A/W ’12 was spotted one one of the performers towards the end of the evening’s spectacular show.

WE SEE THE OLYMPIC TORCH!

It can’t have escaped your notice that the Olympics is now only a day away, and as such the excitement surrounding the forthcoming event is reaching fever pitch here at Reiss HQ – not least because the Olympic torch has just passed Reiss head office on its journey to Stratford. And we went out to see it!

Kids Co Interns: Meet Ben

In last week’s Grazia, we launched our Reiss/Kids Co. Internship scheme – an initiative between Reiss, Kids Company and Grazia which sees four young people from challenging backgrounds gain a role as a Reiss intern across our press, visual merchandising, womenswear accessory design and menswear design departments.

We were lucky enought to grab exclusive chats with Grazia Editor-In-Chief, Jane Bruton and Kids. Co. founder, Camila Batmanghelidjh last week, and now it’s time to meet the first of our four interns – Chikara, Charlene, Ben and Albin.
