From textured fabrics to autumnal hues, our AW13 tailoring will ensure you’re the sartorial champion this season and beyond.
In the summer of 1972, an epic game of chess was played between American and Russian grandmasters, Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky. The match took place in Iceland and has been dubbed the ‘Match of the Century’.
It was this intense tournament that acted as the inspiration for our AW13 menswear tailoring feature, where a stylish grandmaster squares up to his opponent in an array of tailored suits. Playing the match and his look with sharp precision, this shoot demonstrates how mastering the art of tailoring is as skilful as playing a game of chess.
So how will you take on the sartorial game of tailoring this autumn? Well, our AW13 collection has taken a sophisticated approach, focusing on high-quality fabrics and design-led cuts.
Shades of blue are key, significantly deeper hues such as indigo, cobalt and navy. There are also some lighter styles to choose from, from pale blue to soft grey.
Wool plays a big part in our tailoring this autumn, providing a luxurious yet durable fabric for your suit. Mohair has been used to craft certain styles, adding warmth even to lightweight suits. This also creates texture and unique characteristics in these styles, giving your suit an inimitable touch.
This season also sees a modern shift in our tailoring, where many styles have a contemporary design and characteristics such as notch lapels. There are still some more classic options available, picking up from where our collection left off last autumn; however in general our designers have turned away from trends and focused on producing suits that are timeless and true to our brand.
Whatever suiting you opt for this season, just remember confidence is the most essential finishing touch to your sharp ensemble. When you wear one of our well-crafted suits with confidence and pride, you’ll be the sartorial champion throughout this season and beyond.
