The starting point of every season falls to accessories. The bags we carry and shoes we wear are most girls’ first port of call when the new season hits.
These are all-weather pieces which we can happily sport now, and later. After all, sub-zero temperatures aren’t required for carrying a killer handbag.
As seasons swing in and out, the focus will always shift slightly onto the next big thing. However, with accessories at Reiss this season this is especially true. There’s a new design team at the helm, and things have taken a bold new direction.
Leathers are more luxurious, colours are more courageous and details are more considered.
Texture is important, durable grainy leather has been introduced, nubuck is velvety and super-soft, and there’s been a dip into the exotic with watersnake, stamped croc and pony hair pieces.
Colour takes a rollercoaster ride, from moody tones like ash, grey green, cocoa and prune to vivid Valentino red, petrol blue and heathery mauve, these colours sit beautifully against AW12’s minimalist, understated collection.
And of course, accessories really sing when you take a closer look, there are zips, padlocks, d-rings, and Reiss branding all in brushed brass or polished nickel offering a tonal play between matte and shine.
