What’s happening in your city over Christmas?
London has truly embraced the Christmas spirit this year and I love it! There are so many things going on in the city, but these are a few of my favourites; visit Oxford Circus one evening and take in all of the Christmas decorations and window displays down Oxford and Regent Street, head to Winter Wonderland and wander around the Christmas village with a mulled wine in hand, have a feast in the forest at Shuffle Forest Restaurant – a festive pop-up in St Clements and finally, it’s a little cheesy but ice-skating at Somerset House at dusk is pretty special.
As someone new to London, what will you do on Christmas Day?
I’m really getting into Christmas this year – I think spending it in a cold climate (as opposed to the Southern Hemisphere where it’s summer) makes it feel a lot more festive. Snow, mulled wine and big jumpers just make more sense! I’ll be spending Christmas with my boyfriend and other Kiwi friends – no doubt cooking a big meal and over-indulging as one should.
What does Christmas usually entail for you?
To be honest I don’t really have a ‘usual’ Christmas anymore. Growing up it was always spent with family – plenty of eating and present-opening spread over two sweltering hot days. But this will be my 4th Christmas away from home – so I’m learning to let go of tradition and have fun with friends.
What will you wear over the festive period?
A black dress, a jacket and a coat (I like to double up in the cold), heels and a bright red lip. Nice and simple!
What would you like for Christmas?
I wouldn’t mind if Santa surprised me with the Jenn leather jacket – I love the dark navy leather and the fit is pretty much perfect. I’ve also had my eye on a rose gold solitaire ring by Van Rycke for a while now – minimal and timeless – it’s a beauty.
Jessie wears: Russian dress and Harpery black leather jacket.
Check back on the blog next week when we’ll be meeting a new blogger from a different city.
