To kick things off, we caught up with TV Presenter and Fashion Journalist, Louise Roe before the madness of NYFW descends to ask her our five fashion week questions.
What’s your favourite ever Fashion Week show?
It was actually a men’s show in Milan about five years ago. Alexander McQueen took over an entire underground tube station and made the runway into this creepy, dark ghost train. The music boomed all the way up to the street, guiding us down into the depths. The guy models had contact lenses completely blocking out their irises, the clothes were insane, and like all McQueen’s shows, it reminded me how theatrical, artistic and mind-blowing fashion can be.
Which trend will you be trialling at Fashion Week?
Really bright, printed tapered trousers with matching blazers. And lots of pistachio green.
Who are the 5 people on your fantasy front row?
Diana Vreeland, Lauren Hutton, Talitha Getty, Coco Chanel, and David Beckham for eye candy.
Which show are you most excited to see?
Tibi and Diane Von Furstenberg.
Tell us your favourite Fashion Week anecdote.
Sometimes you have to change between shows backstage if there’s no time to rush back to the hotel, and that’s when you see fashion’s least glamorous side! I remember last year getting naked next to Carmen Electra as we hurriedly changed behind a makeshift curtain, and a builder just strolled on through, ripping down the curtain as he went. We were screaming and giggling at the same time, trying to cover up!
